It's real now

We had high school parent night last night for Hannah. Talk about weird. She brought home a book about 3 inches thick Monday evening, that gave information on course selections. I remember putting a check mark next to the electives I wanted to take and that was that. There are now so many ways to earn your needed credits it's insane. She has been streesing a bit about what honors courses to take or if she wants an IB diploma. Already she's worried about "good" colleges and what she needs to get accepted into one. I'm proud that that's on her mind and she cares about it. I wish she wouldn't stress about it already though. There's so much time for that.
I am stressing, however, not about what courses she should take, but about HER being in HIGH SCHOOL! I know there is so much CRAP that they get hit with during those days, it's making me nervous. I know she'll do a great job handling it, but will I? It's beginning to sink in...

I hear ya! First of all, they were born just the other day. Second of all - big kids with mature ideas go to high school. My little girl can't go there!

I can't stand it!! Make them stop growing already. It's great that she's thinking of college already though. Shani got accepted to what some call "The School For Smart Kids" at UVU, formerly UVCC. Anyway, she'll graduate high school with her Associates! And if she graduates with a 3.5 gpa or higher, they will give her a scholarship for her Bachelors.

Have you started saving your pennies for college?
