I never knew such a thing existed until today. (I'm not sure if I'm embarrassed by that or not). After reading about it though, I thought it might be fun to take part. Briefly, Earth Hour is a global movement to reduce carbon emissions for one night. One of the best parts of this is just getting people to think about it and what we can do, individually. Even Las Vegas is jumping on board this year...pretty cool. That itself will make such a huge difference! Anyway, I thought I'd share my brilliant plan with Nathan this morning and see if he had any suggestions of fun things to do by candlelight or with flashlights for that hour. You know, make it cool. Here's a snippit of the conversation:
Me: "Hey Nathy!"
Nathan: "Yeah?"
Me: "I read about this thing called Earth Hour. It's next Saturday night. It's where we turn everything off for one hour to try to..."
Nathan: "Ugh" (totally disgusted)
Maybe Hannah will have an idea.

I plan on turning anything and everyhting electric in my house ON for that hour. LOL
April...you REBEL!! That happened last year when everyone in Utah was supposed to turn everything off for an hour. The ENTIRE neighborhood was pitch black, with the exception of my neighbor to the west. He bought really bright flood lights for his back yard, turned every light in the house (and on the house) on, shined his bright flourescent work light straight up in the sky. He even lined his driveway with christmas lights - which he doesn't even do for Christmas!! It was a pretty funny display of rebellion. ;)
